作者简介：
埃利亚斯・卡内提：1905年生于保加利亚，祖先是居住在西班牙的犹太人。先后在苏黎世、维也纳、法兰克福等地求学，获哲学博士学位。卡内提使用德语写作，一生潜心研究文学、历史。迄今为止，出版了20多部著作，其中最有影响力的便是这部《群众与权力》（1960年）。
