Sarah Cameron, a realistic and rational thinking woman of the twentieth century, inherits an antique book from her grandmother, which allegedly is about her ancestor Seamus Cameron, who was a famous pirate in the seventeenth century. But the book turns out to be about a Scotsman named John Munro and tells his storyaand Sarah Cameronas world suddenly changes. It is a bit of a doggedly and boring read, but some kind of odd magic forces Sarah to continue and so she learns that she can influence the happenings of the story. But it seems that the book itself is working against her, turning everything good she imagines into something bad and painful for the hero of the story. In order to help John Munro, Sarah Cameron tries to outwit the book, and thatas when the fictitious character gets in contact with her, from the book to reality.
