My purpose in writing Confederate Money stemmed from a desire to discuss subjects that are pivotal in the direction young people will take when they choose to travel the road on which they will live their lives. His spiritualism and his ability to love provide an insight into a relationship between a boy and girl that few people, across the entire span of time, ever come to know. Robert also stumbles across the Bim Boo Chronicles. The Bim Boo Chronicles detail the life of a slave girl (Minnie Bim Boo) in the Old South. Her plight to live and achieve her goal provide an insight into the Old South and the reasons why the Civil War was fought that have never been looked at before. The truth that is espoused in the Bim Boo Chronicles may be the last vestige of hope for those who are still shackled with hatred.
