内容简介：
The Republican National Convention is moved to Baltimore at the last minute because of riots in Seattle. Delegates to the convention, a local newspaper writer, a hooker, several assassins and political operatives become involved in a web of power, passion and deceit. A retired general seeking the presidential nomination becomes the object and focus of attention for those wanting him and those wanting to destroy him. Each character falls under the shadows of death and destruction. Love, ambition, self-interest, promotion and hunger for money and power all come into play. Some live, some die, some win, some lose and some move on to a new lifea]or afterlife.
