I began writing at the age of 12 and have not stopped. It is my first love. During my academic career at Spelman College, I majored in sociology with a minor in writing with the hopes of pursuing a career in the film industry. I earned my Master of Science at New York University in Digital imaging and design. My accomplishments also include participation in the 2000 New York Independent Film and Video Festival where I was awarded aMost Dramatic Screenplaya for the original manuscript Somewhere Inside of Beautiful. I am currently in the process of securing funding for my documentary titled American Education 101, a look at the exact state of American education with an emphasis on predominantly black public schools in urban and rural areas.
