内容简介:
After the War Between the States, the South was shattered. Homes, farms and plantations had been looted and burned and towns destroyed. Families had been fractured and dispersed. With Federal troops occupying the South and carpetbaggers in collusion with tax collectors, many Confederate veterans had nothing left to return to. They migrated west in great numbers. This is the story of three such young men. Friends from childhood suffering from wounds of the soul as much as the body, they keep moving west, finally finding an inner peace among the rugged mountains and on the rolling grasslands of western Montana. Happiness, however, is elusive, for the people around them are the Cheyenne, and the grasslands are on the banks of a small river known as the Little Big Horn. This is a tale of courage, sacrifice and an unfailing will.
