内容简介:

When Charlie stopped at the boulder Sam wondered what he was going to do and was amazed when Charlie easily pushed it to one side. "But that rock's colossal, Charlie; you couldn't possibly move it.but you did. How?" Charlie smiled and tapped the side of his nose. "Not everything is as it seems. You're about to see some things that'll test everything you've ever known, but I want you to accept them as you see them. People have been conditioned over the last century; yes, that's the right word, conditioned, to believe the world can't possibly hold things we can't explain away. Very few people believe in natural magic, elves or fairies and if they do they're regarded as strange, fools, madmen or, if we are being kind, eccentric. You're about to enter a very different world to the one you know and," Sam was about to interrupt but stopped as Charlie held up his hand. Sam's head was reeling. .,"I, or some special friends of mine, will answer all your questions as we go along. I'm about to introduce you to those friends. Follow me closely." The boulder concealed a dark tunnel and, as Sam stared at the entrance, he thought Charlie had gone mad. No way would they get in there, it was only about a metre high and probably about half a metre wide. Well I might be able to crawl through but Charlie can't, he thought and stared incredulously up at his very large uncle. "Have faith my lad, faith," Charlie answered his unspoken question. Charlie stood directly in front of the tunnel and, as he put his right foot out, the weirdest thing happened. The tunnel expanded to allow Charlie through, very comfortably upright. I'm definitely going nuts, thought Sam; either that or I'm hallucinating. Did thattunnel expand or has Charlie shrunk?
