This collection of poems and short stories was saved over the years by Carol Stacey Haarala, the matriarch of this wild and crazy clan of women. A few were also saved from Carolas mother and distant cousins. Many were written when her daughters were teenagers and also by their children as teenagers. Then more were written by her daughters as grown women facing middle age. Because these stories encompass five generations, the writing styles are different. Some stories are humorous and full of the sarcastic wit all these women inherited to survive the storms and to enjoy the sunshine; others are sad; but all are written with a compassion and understanding that can be identified by anyone.
