This book of poetry begins when I was fifteen, falling in love for the first time and ending at the tender age of nineteen before the birth of my daughter. It chronicles the hope and heartache of love and acceptance. I ended the book in September of 1988 for two reasons: the logical progression of time from teenager to young adult and the emotional shift from hope to despair. I put a taste of disparity as the last poem to reflect the shift, as well as to tease the curious reader to wonder about the outcome of this pregnant nineteen-year-old.
