Nightshade was born the goddaughter of Lucifer in a world in which everyone is born with magic in their soul. Some can move things with their minds or make plants grow just by singing, and though they are all born to parents, they also have a god or goddess who gives them their powers and name. Nightshade is considered evil, and she is, but now she has to help the Kapali save their people. To do this, she must help them get back the Ring of Helios from where Lucifer rules. She goes through many obstacles, and through it all she finds her true self. Will she find that she is not what she thought?
