The other deaths changed her life, but Chollieas death alters her life in a way that would test the mettle of a much older person, let alone that of an eighteen-year-old girl. After Chollieas death, Bett, finding herself with child, moves away from her familiar surroundings to a new life, new friends, and a life-changing decision.
