内容简介:
Bessie Noonan, a beautiful Irish lass, meets her future husband, Glid Feltis, as she is clerking in a small store in Verona, North Dakota, in 1909. They marry in 1913 and begin to raise their family on land given to them by Glidas father, Samuel C. Feltis. This is the story of the courage, faith and love of this family and that of their ancestors, starting in Ireland in the time of the Great Potato Famine and stretching through the woes of the Great Depression to beyond the stressful days of World War II. It captures the rich heritage and faith of these ancestors and tells how this influenced the lives of Bessie and Glid and their ten children. It portrays family life as it is lived on a farm and later in small North Dakota town with its entertainments, customs, and Christian principles as part and parcel of this familyas daily lives.
