Who I Am is a reflection on my life through my poetry. I began writing short stories when I was 9 years old. When I was 11 years old my father died from a heroin overdose. I was mad at the world and did not know how to express my emotions. That is when I began writing poetry. When I was 16 years old I began to run away from home on a regular basis. I moved out of my motheras home when I turned 18. I lived with my boyfriend for the next 7 years. It was a horrible relationship and the obstacles I had to overcome only fueled my writing. I have not had the easiest life but with poetry I have found a way of healing through my poems. I do not write poetry because of my talent, I write because I need it to breathe.
