内容简介:
Strumming Fodderas Whiskers recounts the humorous and absurd metamorphosis of the title character from man of the cloth to medical provider. As he medicates the ailing neighborhood, first with words of faith and then with doses of pills, he comes to realize that medicine, not religion, is the opiate of the modern masses. His patients include: an innocuous government clerk hoping to prove his own free will by repeating the same meaningless actions each and every day; a middle-aged sculptor, diagnosed with a terminal illness, who questions responsibility in a world that increasingly appears to be carrying on without his permission; and an elementary school teacher who knows that teaching isnat going to change the world, but who nonetheless does so because he wants to do something that will change the world. In the end, optimism prevails in our struggle to find meaning amidst the dystopia of the modern landscape.
