Kim Buchman is a world traveler. He has spent most of his life out at sea; presently as a merchant marine officer between Alaska and Singapore. Born in Sonoma, California and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin, at the age of 20 he went to South and Central America. He went to Alaska next and spent a few years between skiing the Rockies, fishing in Alaska and Venice Beach, where he got acquainted with the literary community. At 24 years of age, he moved to Europe where he met his first wife. They traveled the continent by bicycle finally taking a tandem to Pakistan. He moved back to Alaska after three years where they raised two daughters. In 2001 he separated and moved to work out of Singapore and live in Myanmar were he remarried and has a son. Mr. Buchman was introduced to the Vedanta Society in 1966 by Christopher Isherwood and to this day is still friends with Don Bachardy, the portrait painter. His friend Henk ten Berg, the Dutch poet, first encouraged Kim to publish his works. Kim has been practicing Yoga for over 30 years.
