内容简介:
A Congressional campaign is heated up by unusual events. Water is poisoned by polluters, killing a young man. That death results in a building being blown up, which leads to a court trial that involves one of the candidates. To further exacerbate things, there is evidence that uranium is being smuggled from Iran, through postwar Iraq, to Libya, our supposed friend. This information comes from Los Alamos National Lab, which is part of the New Mexico Congressional district being contested, and it has a decided effect on the election. Finally, one of the candidates is assassinated. Despite the mayhem, the candidates hang in and one is elected. Is this campaign indicative of future elections, or can the system effectively resolve these problems?
