The only thing Gary ever committed himself to was the martial arts, earning a black belt in Tai Kwon Do. A perpetual college student, he wanders from major to major, avoiding decisions the way he avoids a relationship with his girlfriend. Frustrated with life, Gary goes to a local bar to drown his sorrows, only to meet up with Eric, a gentleman with a hidden agenda, who lures Gary into a trap: a time machine. Waking up cold and nearly naked, Gary takes shelter in an old, rundown cabin, scratching together some food and meager clothing, and from there begins a journey of self-discovery. Finding he has been sent back in time to seventeenth-century Ireland, he must fight for his life and the lives of those around him with the British army at his heels. But as he begins to discover himself, he discovers that things are not always what they appear.
