I grew up loving the poetry of Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allen Poe. It has always been my dream to bring the love of poetry to the masses of readers who enjoy literature and good storytelling. While writing a novel is like painting a house, writing poetry is akin to painting on canvas. It is subject to as much realism or abstract thought as the artist wishes. Soothsayer is a work that expands on the ideals of using poetry to tell a story. That story may be horrific, or sad, or humorous in nature, but my goal is to give the reader a clear understanding of meaning in poetic format. My life has been enriched by poetry in ways I canat begin to describe. I only hope to let my readers walk away with the same love and passion, to take it with them in their daily lives. So I present to you this collection of dark, relentless beauty, and wish you, the reader, to take it as your own.
