Have you heard the saying, God never closes a door without opening a window? I guess you could say thatas how my journey into writing poetry started. Six years ago, I lost my stepdaughter, Sandi, in a tragic accident. That wasnat just a closing of a doorait was a slam I couldnat get it out of my mind how her life was cut short at twenty-eight, so I sat down and wrote down my thoughts. Those thoughts became a poem I titled aForever Twenty-Eight.a I discovered how good it felt to write down my thoughts, fears and beliefs. Getting those thoughts to rhyme and make some sort of sense has been a wonderful blessing to me, as it has helped me heal.
