Six-year-old music prodigy Lancelot Anthony McCloud, of Irish and Filipino ancestries, was visiting his grandparents in the Philippines with his parents. The jeepney he and his grandparents were in was struck by a truck during torrential rains and strong winds in the mountains near Baguio City. The jeepney rolled and tumbled down a 2,000-foot deep mountain side and rested on the river bank below. The grandmother survived; Lancy was thrown off the jeepney into the river. Lancy was given up for dead by the search team. Lancy was found unconscious by a hermit 100 miles downstream, clinging on a big tree branch. The hermit raised Lancy, who suffered amnesia. The hermit, a retired school teacher and master in twelve-style martial arts, raised Lancy, home schooled and taught him martial arts. Lancy regains full memory with super strength after ten years and begins his quest to find his parents.
