Sean Gallagher, a young drifter turned prizefighter, has been barnstorming his way across the west with his manager and mentor, Augie Harboldt. Betrayed and nearly brought down by a person he thought was his ally and estranged from Meghan, Gallagher is forced to reexamine his goals.
