Steinman Island: Castaway is a modern sailing adventure story. The Steinman family develops an unusual culture on their island paradise in the South Pacific. Conflict arises with American intelligence agencies that are tasked with expelling the Steinman family from their island. One of the Steinman sons, with an unusual intellect, develops into the dominant leader of the family as the Steinman family comes up against international threats, pirates and armed aggression. An important aspect to this island adventure story is the presence of a small family of orangutans on Steinman Island that becomes an integral part of the Steinman family. Although this is a work of fiction, there is an undercurrent of social criticism within this story that may help some readers understand why foreign nations and people have a legitimate mistrust and dislike for some American foreign policy.
