Heads Down is a fictional story based on actual events and happenings at home and in Germany as a result of World War II. It is the story of an American soldier, a German soldier and an American Army chaplain and their families. The story opens in Germany where the American and German soldiers are thrown together on the battlefield and save each otheras lives. A friendship develops between the two that lasts the rest of their lives. The setting of the story is a small ranch in northeastern Colorado.
