His life changes dramatically when Peg Leg teaches Solo how to draw and shoot a six-shooter. Again Destino enters to change Solo's life. Peg Leg is murdered and three men are involved. Solo settles on his ranch in Blandings, and goes about becoming a rancher. Many changes have taken place in Solo's life. The quiet farming life is not Solo's fate. He meets several famous people: British gambler/gun fighter Benjamin F. Thompson, John Wesley Hardin, the Buffalo Soldiers of the 10th United States Cavalry, Comancheros and Comanches. Beautiful woman, also, help make changes in Solo's life: soiled doves, calico queens, a beautiful Apache woman chief-warrior, and a sultry wild Comanche princess.
