These poems reflect the reactions of Laurence W. Thomas to the human tendency to strike out against opposition rather than seeking accommodation. In his work and travels abroad, the poet has seen first-hand the suffering of people victimized by the upsetting cruelty of war and its aftermath, visiting refugee camps in Iran and Lebanon and Jordan and living in war-torn Berlin for three years.
