内容简介:
The Boy Who Turned Green tells the story of Luke, an unhappy ten-year-old boy, who lives in northern Maine. While vandalizing a high school chemistry lab, he is involved in an explosion and is exposed to poisonous gases. He appears to recover from this accident, but later, his skin begins to turn green. Physicians discover that his hemoglobin, the substance that makes blood red, is being replaced by chlorophyll, a closely related compound, that is the cause of the green color in plants. Luke experiences much teasing and humiliation, but when he discovers that he can communicate with the trees of the forest, everything begins to change for him. His adventures in the woods, the lessons he learns, and the new friends he makes bring Luke both joy and suffering and lead him into a new and fuller life.
