Nature has always been a major element in poetry. Whether in free verse or traditional poetry, man's connection to nature has been explored in many different ways. Most nature poets, like Robert Frost, see that relationship as symbiotic, each gaining something by the association of one with another. This collection of poetry falls into that same vein. They deal with the simplicity of nature and how man and nature can co-exist, and how man can learn great lessons by making daily observations into the way nature works. Most of the poems are seen through the eyes of a young boy, who still sees the wonder that nature has to offer, and the boy learns daily lessons that he can apply to his own life. Some are whimsical, some are funny, and some more serious. Most of the poems have a lesson that can be taken from them if the reader just listens.
