内容简介:
Children of the Fire" is the story of six emotionally scarred children. Each suffers from a childhood experience of life-altering violence, perpetrated by an individual in the family group. The novel takes us with these six from childhood through adolescence and into early adulthood. The children meet as students at Georgetown University. Bonded in the kinship of their pasts and despite their differences in status and ethnicity, they look to one another for understanding and strength, all except one. As the novel progresses, they become entangled in the web of the killer among them, even as they struggle to reconcile the horror of their pasts. On one level, "Children of the Fire" addresses the horrendous impact of life-altering violence upon maturation. On another, it is the story of the hunt for the Georgetown Killer. On still another, it is a story of hope and love, both lost and found.
