It began when Elizabeth Lindsay and her teenage daughters, Kate and Cassy, fell in love with a flat - a tiny flat. It had only two rooms and the three Lindsays, plus their dog Dipso and their very vocal canary Jaundice, needed considerable ingenuity to fit into it. They put the 'fridge' on the fire-escape and hid favorite dresses in the breadbin; Cassy perched precariously on the narrow balcony while Kate entertained her friends; and Elizabeth fended off the advances of an admirer while actually sitting on Cassy - admittedly Cassy was hidden inside the convertible sofa, but she was also singing Christmas carols. . . Life in a small flat, the Lindsays discovered, might be a bit hectic - but it was always fun.
