GTD + Zen life
2013-01-02
#1: Set limitations
#2: Choose the essential
#3: Simplify
#4: Focus
#5: Create habits
#6: Start small
1. By setting limitations, we can preserve our energy and stay focus; by setting limitations, we must choose the essential. Learn to set limitations.
2. By choosing the essential, we create great impact with minimal resources. Always choose the essential to maximize your time and energy.
How to choose the essential?
1) Your values?
2) Your goals?
3) What do you love?
4) What is important to you?
5) What has the biggest impact?
6) What has the most long-term impact?
7) Needs vs. Wants
8) Eliminate the nonessential
9) Continual editing process
3. Simplifying - Eliminating the nonessential.
4. your focus is your most important tool in becoming more effective.
How to use focus to improve your life?
1) Focus on a goal (focus on ONE task)
2) Focus on NOW
3) Focus on the task at hand (refer to FLOW)
4) Focus on the positive
5. Create new habits to make long-lasting improvements.
1) Only ONE habit per month
2) Write down your plan (What / When / Trigger / Who)
3) Post your goal publicly
4) Report on your progress daily (use chart or anything that is easy to measure)
5) Celebrate your new habit
6. Start new habits in small increments to ensure success
几个对我有用的关键点:
(一) Tackling a goal takes energy and focus and motivation.
(二) The ONE Goal System
1) Choose a goal
2) Break it down to a sub-goal
3) Setup weekly goal that will move you closer to your sub-goal
4) Choose one daily action that will move you closer to your weekly goal
(三) Most Important Tasks (MITs)
1) Limit the MITs to three
2) MIT is the first thing (before you check your E-mails, blog, weibo, forum, etc.) to be done each day
3) At least one of the MITs should be related to one of the goals
(四) 目标要写下来,要告诉别人,要定期回顾与检讨;还要记得给自己奖赏。
(五)参照心流 (Flow) 原理选择与制订目标,确保目标是自己真正想做的事情。
