The key takeaway from the book is that the speed that information is transported will bias the information to be transported. One key supporting observation is provided by the author. At the time when telephone became available to the media, more and more information is flooding the public. The consequence is information that is new and out of the way tends to capture more attention. This is quite true when we turn on TV and watch what is typically broadcast.
A second observation from the author is that because of the rapid speed and large amount of information transported, receivers tend to accept information that's easily interpreted. The consequence is people become more visual.
The author tends to be pessimistic about the future, which looks like Marx to capitalism. What will be a better book is the author provides insights about the weakness in his own logic.
