The chapters are derived from presentations at the Fourth Jerusalem International Symposium in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, in conjunction with Falk Symposium No. 72, which was held in Strasbourg, France, in September 1993, and attended by 1000 physicians from 51 countries.
