Born in Epps, Louisiana, in 1965, Exlena was reared in a loving Christian environment. Although she attended church regularly, it wasnat until her late thirties that she truly came to know Christ. Through personal struggles as well as family tragedy, she has grown strong in her faith. She has dedicated her life to helping and witnessing to others about Christ and His love. Through poetry she reflects her personal struggles and testimony of how one can gain strength and happiness and live a very fulfilling life when applying certain biblical principles such as the Fruit of the Spirit.
