内容简介：
George Harms, an astro geologist, is among those selected for an extended exploratory scouting voyage to a number of nearby stars for colonization purposes. The voyage begins smoothly enough, but then unexplained occurrences begin, and then Earth-compatible biology begins to be found beyond all possible statistical probability. When their jump drive is sabotaged, they are hopelessly lost among the stars. Now begins the search for home, and an epic voyage ensues. Apparent chance encounters with other races, and an escalating problem with a hostile race, complicates their return. Nothing seems to be as it first appears, and paranoia sets in. George and his new wife Amelia appear to be somehow at the center of this nebulous intrigue.
