Born in Chicago, Illinois and the oldest of five, at sixteen, Lacresia Crum left home to live with her grandmother on the West Side of Chicago until she passed away. She finished putting herself though high school and held down a part-time job at the nearby grocery story. Shortly after, she met her kidsa father and they moved to Mississippi. Leaving home so early, you get to see things, do things, and live out some things you only hear about on TV. Well, itas all real. The beauty of the South helped her to put her thoughts on paper--a dream come true. Some of her best poems were inspired by hard times, trying situations, love gone wrong, and the many blessings that God made in her life.
