内容简介:
During the late 1940s and the early 1950s, red-dog, a byproduct of the steel industry, was a major commodity used for roads, backfills, and major construction projects. Don Smiddle moves his trucking company into the Washington/Allegheny County area, a short distance from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With him, he brings his fleet of twenty-five trucks and a group of ruthless ex-convicts who, desperate for decent pay, will do anything to keep their jobs. Smiddle sets his sights on taking over Brown Trucking, a family-owned, local trucking company. When one of Brownieas drivers and two of his sons are killed by Smiddleas men, the Brown family fights back.
