Felicity and Hershell are tragically killed in a car accident. Their will states that both Hershellas brother Charles, who is in the process of becoming a police officer, and Felicityas sister Ruth, who is still in college getting a degree in writing, are to be the guardians of their only child, Rosalie. Charles and Ruth decide that the best way in raising Rosalie together will be to get married and raise her as a family.
