内容简介:
I have enjoyed writing poems for many years. A lot of these poems I have written have been put into song form and I have sung them with the piano to church groups as a way to minister to people. I want to reach out to their hearts to draw them closer to God. Writing is therapy to me. I live in a small farming community in Minnesota and work in Rochester at the world-famous Mayo Clinic in the legal department. I am married to a wonderful man who works for a non-profit organization helping the physically and emotionally handicapped become self-sufficient. We have eight children between us and one beautiful grandson. In the past four years, I have been challenged physically with my health. I was involved in a serious auto accident which left me permanently injured and also within this period was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I was treated four years ago with surgery to remove a nodule on my thyroid which ended up being cancerous. Two years later the cancer returned again in a tumor behind where my thyroid was in the tissues of my neck. Last year I was again treated with radioactive iodine and have had numerous alcohol ablation treatments before that. I am hopeful that these treatments will work for me. I pray that my poems will give strength to others dealing with their own trials and tribulations in their lives and I pray that they will realize that they are never alone. aKatherine Ann Smith
