This memoir is a story about a young woman and her family as they struggle to regain their life. It takes place over the course of eight years in which the family goes through many ups and downs. It shows how a regular middle-class family can go from having it all to having nothing at all. It is all told through the eyes of the oldest daughter, who knew more than anyone gave her credit for. The story shows the familyas worst moments, when they lived in the homeless shelter, and their best moments, when they finally end up living in their own home.
