The title Shadows on the Wall was taken from one of the poems featured in this collection as well. It is a poem that was written for his daughter, Kia, some nineteen years ago. The poem has a double meaning, as do many of the poems here. Aside from a young girl being afraid of shadows, the poem demonstrates how one's mood affects one's interpretation. Shadows on the Wall is adventurous and somber, coy and telling, but like anything, is subject to interpretation and of course, mood.
