If I didnat have my mind set on calling this book Depression Has No Heart, I would have titled it Iam Not Alone. Did you know that more than 22 million Americans are suffering from depression? Mental disorders now account for 4 of the 10 leading causes of disability in established market economies worldwide. If not for my affliction called cerebral palsy, I would not have a story to tell, because many doctors and psychiatrists would not have diagnosed it as depression. Unfortunately, due to having a speech impairment, the medical field was ignorant regarding my symptoms of depression. I hope my story opens the eyes of all the current medical students.
