One Thing: Simple Poems for a Complex World is a collection of poems I wrote over a period of about three and one-half years. I wrote these poems as expressions of my heart to God in the midst of some difficult experiences. Just as some of the poetry contained in the book of Psalms in the Bible is lament and some is praise, so this book of "modern psalms" contains praise as well as lament. There is enough complexity in our world already, so it is my hope that in these simple poems others, too, may find solace. I included related scriptural references in the left margin of each poem, believing that others would find them helpful in formulating their own prayers to God, as I have. Hopefully, by reading these Bible verses along with my poems, others will discover the freedom of expressing their true feelings to God.
