This story takes place deep in the wet marsh swampland of Florida where the only laws are the aSwamp Laws.a It is within this soggy, saturated, uncivilized land where one would meet Riesig, the giant, and Etta Mae, the Snake Lady. Their home is where they raise hundreds of anaconda snakes for sale to pet stores throughout the state of Florida. The two breeder snakes are huge snakes, much larger than anyone would expect. Roy works for the Florida State Parks and Recreation Division. He has been given the assignment of delivering a court-ordered notice of eviction to remove Riesig and the Snake Lady from their home and land. The state of Florida wants to use this section of swampland for public recreational use. Needless to say, these people will not give up their property and they will fight to the end. Roy finds love and romance, along with a huge quagmire of problems, particularly when he is ordered by the governor to stay and do whatever it takes to evict.
