Eight-year-old Paco and his family moved to Duncan's Tomato Farm in Ohio. They all worked hard as migrate workers. They become close to the owners of the farm, Mr. and Mrs. Duncan, but not the son, Jake, who was a bully. One night Paco invited his teacher Miss Ford over for supper. The family wanted to meet the lady who was giving Paco special attention. After supper, as they sat around talking about Paco, Miss Ford showed his mother a picture that had upset her. Just as they were discussing it, chaos broke out. Popping was heard that sounded like gunshots. Will Paco's or anyone's dreams come through after that night?
