The Bonding depicts a special relationship that grows under unusual circumstances between "gifted" children and genetically engineered dragons. The story is set in a futuristic Earth where the first genetically engineered dragons are hatched and paired with sixteen special children, who are fighting against hatred and ignorance. They have to overcome hardships and pain, and they will reign supreme. The books tell the story of how they bond and how they have to leave their loved ones and travel to the wastelands of the planet and try to live in an hostile environment. Eventually they have to go back to where it all began to save the future of the planet from man's own greed and destruction, and to be able to live.
