Home Town, set in rural Oklahoma, finds Darcy and Ray Parker at a crossroads. Their two daughters have finished college, married, and moved away. Itas empty nest, time to settle in with operating their ranch and growing old together. Not so. In the first chapter, we find an unsolved murder, a land grabber, a dope dealer, and someone who has risen from the dead. Because she cares, Darcy becomes involved in all these schemes, with helpful suggestions to the local sheriff. Added into the mix are everyday life with her colorful neighbors and vagaries of Oklahoma weather. Light, easy reading, though hard to put down, it causes the reader to laugh on one page and gasp on the next.
