『総合デザイン事務所の先駆者』
岡秀行氏は、戦前はいち早く、デザイナー、写真家、コピーライターを擁する事務所、今で言う総合デザイン事務所を立ち上げた先駆者として、戦後は日本宣伝美術会（1951年）、東京商業美術家協会（1952年）、全国商業美術家連盟（1962年）など、デザインの職能団体づくりに尽力し、デザイン界に大きな貢献を果たした人物です。
『世界的に評価されたパッケージ収集』
岡氏はデザイン業と併行して、日本人が古くから生活の中で用いてきた米俵や苞（つと）、日本の雅びな文化を感じられる老舗・名店の菓子折や鮨桶など、自然の素材を活かした包装・容器に初めて美的な価値を見い出し、収集と研究を始めました。その成果は書籍・展示会としてもに結実し、日本国内のみならず、海外にも広く紹介されました。
