内容简介:
"Selected Poems (1994-2006)" is David Waterfall's first published book of poetry. It is arranged chronologically and spans his 12 years of writing. Heavily influenced by Walt Whitman and T.S. Eliot, David Waterfall writes in a free verse style. His poetry is inspired in great part by his relationships, his love of travel and nature, and personal introspection. He believes that one can and should only write about that which is personally known or felt. The arrangement of "Selected Poems" displays David Waterfall's development as a poet. Included in this collection are several of his early poems, which often display an external focus, describing objects or scenes of nature. His later poems show a change toward a more private focus based on introspection and emotion. The intensity of his later poems shows an attempt to capture the complexity of his own human experience. Ultimately, Selected Poems demonstrates the evolving style, focus, and passions of an emerging modern poet.
