Actually, I red the English version of Built to Last. To tell the truth, I am not quite good at English.
But I still want to write something after i red parts of this book- preface and introduction.
At this moment, i understand one important principle from the book, which was concluded after studying hundreds of so called "visionary and enduring corporation".
Even though the world is fast changing, some basic principle and management method would never change. Some advanced facilities or techniques appear today, has already applied to the companies which had lasted for 2 centuries.
Even though, we must change our operating practices, or even strategies, according to the fast changing word, some thing could never change. That is the core value or core purpose. So, before we asked the question "what could we change to make a great or even enduring company", we must first answer the question- "who are we?", "why are we exist?"
Even though, the book was written based on the research of for-profit corporations, the feedback from the all over the world make us understand the fact that the principles or the fundamental from the book could be applied to every organization, even to family and individuals.
So, for me, it could not only help me to make a better self-discovery and self-identity, but also could let me understand some fundamental in management.
Now, the question when i read the rest of the book:
1. how to identify the core purpose of a company?
2. how to do a better self-identity?
3. how to share the core and use it completely through the whole company?
4. how to stimulate the progress?
