这本书我通读了一遍,并对第十章略微精读。从熵的出现,就是卡尔波普尔的一个有意思的验证,他的出现,从反面(或者“负”的角度)证伪了永动机的存在,他的诞生就是一个很“科学”的概念(因为科学强调可证伪性)。
世界是个自然的“熵增”的过程,而我们要“费功”来做“熵减”,
我们并不控制自己的饮食,那么体重可以理解为“熵增”。一屋不扫,何以扫天下,谈的也是熵增和熵减。
熵增是自然的,熵减是需要做功的,也就要消耗自己的气力,本能上是拒绝的。
对研究的启示是什么?
世界是复杂而奇妙的,但是我们希望构建一个我们能够认识的世界。构建的方法并不相同,所以,每个人的世界是自己的。但是构建的过程,是一个熵减的过程。
对于科学的研究也是如此。
通常来说,初始条件的微弱变化能够改变最终的结果,所谓“差之毫厘谬以千里”,但是当迭代次数够多的时候,初始条件已经没有所谓了。但是世界客观和主观的领域都是迭代快速的一个过程。不过涉及到生物(或者主观)的学科,可能这种熵减就更加困难,因为迭代的可能性更强,也就是生命力更强。这种差别接近物理反应和化学反应的问题。
我们还是举例。
初始重要么?其实不重要。重要的是迭代,迭代我理解为演变。演变的路径是不可预知的,那么只能基于推演,所以科学,特别是涉及到生物的学科,我觉得推演,要比预测来的有用和有价值。那么从研究的角度,重要的是“熵减”的过程构建我们主观的认识,而未来的发展交给谁呢?唯有“偶然”,偶然又是来自什么?
如果更进一步,为什么世界是一个自然“熵增”的过程,如果是一个自然“熵减”的过程,这个世界会怎么样?如果“熵减”是不需要“做功”的,世界有会如何?
那么,这个世界应该不会有人类的出现,从另一个角度,人也没有存在的意义,因为人无需思考,这个世界也会非常无聊。
那么,人类一思考,上帝就发笑。我觉得,他并不是一种嘲笑,而是一种欣慰的笑,因为对于他所创造的一个不断演变的世界,熵又减少了一些。
